Starting at ¥92,800($13,000), the Leapmotor Lafa5 officially launches—the "electric Golf" has arrived!

On November 27, Leapmotor officially launched its new compact electric car, the Lafa5, with a starting price of 92,800 yuan ($13,000) after subsidies. As Leapmotor's entry-level model, the Lafa5 is positioned as an "electric Golf" and targets young consumers looking for an affordable yet high-quality electric vehicle.

The exterior design of the Lafa5 features a sleek, modern look with a closed front grille, sharp LED headlights, and a sporty rear with a through-type taillight design. The interior offers a minimalist layout with a 10.25-inch central control screen and a digital instrument panel, supporting smartphone connectivity and voice control.

Powered by a 55kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, the Lafa5 has a maximum torque of 155N·m and a CLTC cruising range of 401km. It can accelerate from 0 to 50km/h in 4.9 seconds, making it suitable for daily urban commuting.
